Go straight up the bottom of the little ravine and you'll save 10 minutes. The "standard" route takes you over Gunsight Pass, continues southeast on trail 068 until it hits trail 025, then you take a right (heading west on 025) up to Anderson Pass, then you climb Kings Peak's ridge to the summit. So many people take this route that there are clear paths through this region. From there, turn south and climb the north ridge of Kings Peak 1.5 miles to the summit.
